Stay in Motion
What you need to remember is:
the highs and lows are coming no matter what.
The only move you have left?
Surf on 'em.
When I saw the old wise farmer last week, I told him,
“Sometimes I feel like I’m hanging on by a thread.”
“Yeah,” he said. “But it’s a strong thread.”
SodaCran is all about starting a new program.
One that focuses on what you’re doing,
not what you’re not doing.
But it’s still one day at a time.
Almost all my trains of thought end in that statement.
It’s a balance—
Because success is about focusing on what you want in your life,
and you’re gonna need to be on the edge to get it.
But you also have to slow down,
have fun with what you’re doing.
That’s the only way to stay engaged.
Don’t let the next moment rob you of this one.
So how do you stay present?
You gotta talk it out with the people closest to you.
And listen to what they say back.
People think themselves into their own personal brand of reality.
Don’t get stuck in yours.
The old wise farmer once again stresses it:
Routine and structure are the keys to beating anxiety.
If you’re feeling like you need to chill out,
so you stay up watching NBA highlights until 1AM
and then can’t sleep and are tired for work the next day—
Well, you didn’t follow the plan.
You knew what the plan was
after the Sunday night recap.
“It’s not about feelings. You can’t go with your feelings,” he says.
One’s too much. A million is never enough.
It’s alright that you’re thinking about drinking.
It’s alright that you’re depressed.
It’s perfectly fine that you need to lay down on the floor for an hour and breathe.
If that’s where you’re at, that’s where you’re at.
At least you’re not at the bar, disappearing from existence.
It dawns on you in small moments:
Your hands tingling during a 6PM chat with a friend,
realizing you used to have a buzz at this point in the conversation.
And then it hits:
“Wow… I’m not waking up in parking lots anymore. The world’s not spinning. That didn’t help anything.”
You’re not going to make tomorrow worse.
And you know what?
This moment’s actually not that bad.
SodaCran is fake it 'til you make it.
Once you get up off the floor and decide to do something—
who knows?
You might even catch yourself living inspired.

Look good doing it.

Self-confidence isn’t self-righteousness.

maybe ending the day with one more page read,
going for a walk when you feel stuck—
These are the quiet wins.
The classy moves.
Maybe even a hint of lime while you’re at it.
